School of Word & Worship - Wednesdays
The School of Word and Worship (formerly Ministry Training Center) is launching a new season in a new form on September 27, and you don't want to miss it! This Wednesday gathering is free and is for everyone - it's all about allowing Holy Spirit to flow however He wishes through worship, teaching, practical exercises, and experiences.
Join us on this new and incredibly fun adventure! We'll meet every Wednesday in the Main Sanctuary from 7:00-9:00pm, and children's ministry will be open each week from 7:00-8:30pm. For more details, please contact Pastor Cathy, CathyM@livingbyfaith.com.
The Union Creative – Screenwriting Workshop
September 23 from 12:30pm - 5pm
We all have a story to tell, and we’ve all pondered the question of what legacy we’re leaving. Have you ever thought of telling your story as a film? A film is one of the few things that immortalizes our creativity. One of the hardest things about a creative project is often figuring out how and where to start. Join Ron Newcomb, The Indie Film Coach, for a day of exploring and training on how to write a screenplay. Ron will also be joined by a local professional screenwriter, Katherine Craddock, for an hour-long question and answer session. Living Faith members will be offered this workshop for the special price of $50.00. To register, please email Ron at email@example.com to receive the discount link. For more details, see Pastor Leslie.
Men’s Meeting – Fall Kickoff Breakfast
Men, you’re invited to join us for our fall kick-off breakfast on Saturday, September 23rd at 8am in the Mountain Sanctuary. Cost is $5 and you may register online. For more details, contact Sean Friendly or Tom Caso.
Releasing His Presence Worship Art
This month, we will be hosting artist Katelyn Wood who teaches at Muse Paintbar in Gainesville. Katelyn is a very accomplished artist who will be setting up a still life for us to paint in acrylics. This introductory course will highlight the nature of building a composition and the ways arrangement of form and space can be used to create meaning. With acrylic paint as your medium, you will learn the basics of color mixing and how to apply color theory to not only enhance your composition but also to express your unique perspective. This class is geared for beginners and intermediates. The cost is $35 which includes materials. Join us on Saturday, September 23rd at 6pm in the School of Word and Worship (Building B). Space is limited so sign up quickly either online or at the Information Desk by September 17. Come expecting to have a fun night of painting! For more details, see Pastor Sally or Maritza.
Beginning September 30, we’ll be hosting a Codependency group. Do you know what codependency is? Some of its characteristics are: bending over backwards to take care of others, not trusting our own feelings, feeling guilty for not doing enough, staying quiet to avoid arguments, staying in bad relationships or even sabotaging good ones, and having trouble with emotional intimacy. If you find relationships difficult, it may be that the root of the problem is codependency. If you experience any of these trends in your relationships, consider joining us - it is possible to have healthy and satisfying relationships! We’ll be meeting on Saturday mornings at 9am, starting September 30. The cost to attend this group is $50.00 which covers the material. Please register online or at the Information Desk. For more details, contact Pastor Sally.
Guest Speaker -- Pastor Ransford Obeng
We’re super excited to announce that on Sunday, October 1st Pastor Ransford Obeng from Calvary Charismatic Centre in Kumasi, Ghana will be with us again and taking both of our services. Come and expect to be blessed!
God never intended for our lives as Christians to be boring. It’s exciting to hear Father’s God’s heart and voice; He’s an extraordinary God and desires our lives to be extraordinary, supernatural and fun. Whether you’re new in your relationship with God or simply desiring to go to a deeper place with Him, The Extra-Ordinary Life class is a powerful place to learn and grow. In our first session, we’ll be talking about the New Birth and Holy Spirit and practicing how to hear and connect with Holy Spirit. Join us as we grow in our understanding of who we are and practice hearing Holy Spirit. This class is free and will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning October 4 in Building B. Please register online or at the Information Desk – for more details contact Pastor Bebette.
This weekend marks the official end of summer and beginning of fall! Fall comes with pumpkin spiced everything, football, hot apple cider, big bowls of chili and our annual Fall Fest. This year our Fall Fest will be held on Saturday, October 28th from 4-6pm. This get together is not just for kids; there will be something for everyone – young, old, single and married. You can come hang out, have dinner and enjoy a s’more around the fire pit, or you can get involved in one of our activities.
Men, if you love to cook and like a little friendly competition, the winner of our 2017 chili cook-off, Shane Rogers, challenges you to bring it on.
Ladies, this year we’re adding a pumpkin bake-off! Enter your best pumpkin dessert. It can be pie, bread, cake or cookies – if it’s sweet and includes pumpkin, it qualifies.
And for all the creatives, decorate your car and enter it into the “Trunk or Treat” contest.
The concession stands will be selling hot dogs, chili, soda and snacks for $1. Everyone is welcome to come in costume – no scary ones, please.
Cost to attend the event is one large bag of candy per family. For our planning purposes, please register online, at the Information Desk or in the Town Square from October 1-22.
Entry into the competitions and contests is available when you register.
Candy donations for the Trunk or Treat are appreciated and will be collected on Sundays in the Town Square and Sanctuary. Please donate bags of individually wrapped candy only.
